The Chemical Industry in Binzhou
Binzhou has one of the biggest foundations for chemical production in China. The Binzhou chemical industry comprises more than 100 companies that produce industrial chemicals. Central to the global economy, these chemical companies converts raw materials (oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, and minerals) into more than 70,000 different products. Polymers and plastics, especially polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene and polycarbonate comprise a key amount of the industry’s output worldwide. These materials are sometimes converted to fluoropolymer tubing products and used by the industry to transport highly corrosive materials. Chemicals are used to make a wide variety of consumer goods, and also act as starting materials for agriculture, manufacturing and construction. Inorganic chemicals also make up a significant part in Binzhou’s overall chemical production.Products include salt,
chlorine, caustic soda, soda ash, acids (such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid), titanium dioxide, and hydrogen peroxide. Another key category is fertilizers and their production include phosphates, ammonia and potash chemicals. The Binzhou chemical industry has in storage 0.6 billion tons of petroleum and 16.4 million Mcf of natural gas, supplying energy for thousands of homes, organizations and motor vehicles throughout China.
